**Art Exhibit / June 3-June 7**

Artists will dive into a media rich environment to create 2D and 3D works of art. Tape paintings, mixed-media fantastical animal paintings, multi-colored-bead-enhanced mini sculptures, and watercolor prayer flags are some of the projects you will see.

**Explorations in Geometry /June 10-June 14**

Geometry like you have never experienced it before! Shapes and color will serve as our primary inspiration in this multi-media adventure. Artists will create animals, faces, and flowers on colorful shapes, museum-worthy grid-like abstract works, layered and sewed deconstructed shape art, and fabric shape collages on old book pages. Artists will learn a variety of skills and applications through creative, unconventional projects that push the limits of the imagination.

**Color and Collage: The Art of Crafts / June 17-21**

Campers will integrate painting, collage, songs, poetry, and games into a week of creativity.  Young artists will make hand-painted, textured paper with watercolor on wet paper.  They will use salt, sponges, Plexiglas, plastic wrap, straws, and marbleizing techniques to create a variety of nature settings illustrating water, sky, various lands, and times of day.  These papers will be the raw materials for creating collages that tell picture stories.  Collage themes will be self-directed, but the collage illustrations of Leo Lionni, Lois Ehlert, Steve Jenkins, and Eric Carle will be shared for inspiration.

**Old School Selfies / June 24-June 28**

Campers we will use drawing and painting techniques to create self-portraits.  Media we will explore will include pencil, ink, watercolor and crayon.

**No Camp July 1-5**

**The Art of Ancient Civilization  / July 8-July 12**

In this workshop, campers will learn the brief history of some important Ancient Civilizations and sample art legacies their citizens left behind. Starting in Ancient Egypt campers will create Pharaoh masks and clay scarabs. Moving on to Greece campers will make God or Goddess trading cards and learn about Greek pottery, forming and patterning a Greek vase. Stopping in Rome campers will learn about and make a Roman mosaic and form a unique Roman coin. Ending with Medieval times campers will create their own coat of arms and map their own medieval kingdom.

**Adventures in Media / July 15-July 19**

Students will experiment with a variety of media in this class including printmaking, painting, and drawing. There will be opportunities to explore each medium as well as combine them. Students will create a handmade sketchbook to take with them and a few larger works. Three days will have a theme: pattern and the abstract, nature, and self-portrait, while the fourth and fifth days will be workshop-style where artists will get to select the media and applications that most speak to their creative spirit. Work will vary from the abstract to the representational with plenty of room in between. Join for a week of experimentation and exploration of the possibilities of media!

**Marvelous Macrame / July 22-July 26**

During this week of camp, kids will have the opportunity to explore different forms of art such as macramé and knot tying, fabric dyeing and clay bead making in order to bring together one final piece of art they can proudly display on their wall. We will start from scratch, developing our own unique patterns and then use the time to collaborate and create!
